  • The Home Theater room: Getting warm and cozy with movies.

On level two, in the basement Home Theater room, we have a 60 inch LED Samsung television built into the wall, attached to a DVD / Blu  Ray player, VHS player, and SONY receiver which powers five surround sound speaker throughout the room. The room has a very comfy couch, and it tends to be one of the warmest rooms in the house because of the big gas heater down there. Plus, it's pretty dark, being a basement and all. Overall, an excellent experience for watching your favortie movies.

Operating the system should be easy for those of you who are half way stereo / TV competent; for others who tend to get a litle lost with these things, pay attention. It's easy. Feel free to bring your own DVD's or Blu Ray movies, as we don't stock many of those, but we do have a serious collection of VHS tapes, including some stuff for the kids, just in case you wanted to stuff them down in the basement to get away from them. There are a few DVD's there, along with some more up in the living room above the wine rack. We don't stock any Blu Ray discs. And, we apologize if you don't like our taste in movies.

Basically, the Sony stereo handles the sound. You change from DVD to Blu Ray to VHS to satellite using the Samsung TV remote (just change the INPUT to whatever device you want to watch). You adjust the Satellite with the Direct TV satellite remote. Turn on the DVD / VHS player and use that remote to control that unit. The Blu Ray, the same. So basically, stereo adjusts sound; each unit has it's own remote, adjust the INPUT to the TV using the Samsung TV remote. Pretty easy.

A great place to get away, after a long day outdoors. Enjoy! Oh, and please, don't touch the screen!
